Certain installations of Internet Explorer may not properly recognize some Adobe PDF files.

If you are using Internet Explorer and you are unable to download a PDF file,
you may receive a message like this:

File does not begin with "%PDF-"

How can I resolve this problem?

Force Acrobat Reader to open the document in a separate window by
removing Acrobat Reader as a helper file:

For Acrobat Reader 6.0

  1. On the menu, select: Edit, Preferences, General
  2. On the General Preferences page high-light Options
  3. Uncheck the box next to "Display PDF In Browser."
  4. Save your changes and exit.

For  Acrobat Reader 5.0

  1. On the menu, select Edit, Preferences, Options
  2. Uncheck the box next to "Display PDF In Browser."
  3. Save your changes and exit.

For  Acrobat Reader 4.0

  1. On the menu, select: File, Preferences, General
  2. Uncheck the box next to "Web Browser Integration."
  3. Save your changes and exit.
