March 2024 Newsletter
Thank You!
More than 400 users filled out surveys and gave us valuable feedback during the second week of January. We rely on user feedback to help us prioritize BoardBook Premier updates, upgrades, and additions, as well as future content like this newsletter, user guides, and our Lunch and Learn series.
BoardBook Update News
Several updates in BoardBook went live on February 24th.
One the latest features allows you to easily postpone a meeting. In short, when you postpone a meeting, the ‘postponed’ meeting is cancelled, and a new ‘rescheduled’ meeting is created with the same meeting title, type, time, location, and agenda items as those in the original meeting. We've created an online guide to walk you through the process.
Minute Taking in BoardBook Premier
Last issue, we shared some general tips on taking better meeting minutes, this issue we're covering the specifics of how to take minutes within BoardBook Premier. In our annual survey, it's the feature people want to learn about the most. Taking minutes inside the BoardBook Premier program can be an incredible time saver. And we have several resources to help you get started.
- Download or print the Minutes Management Guide
- Watch the Minutes Manager Tools Video Tutorial
- Attend the Minutes Manager Tool Lunch and Learn
Each of these resources will help you learn how to use the discussion, attendance, and voting tools that allow you to take minutes directly in BoardBook Premier and then export everything into a consolidated minutes report.
BoardBook Premier Templates
Another popular topic in our user survey was templates. Templates are a great way to customize your agendas, notices, and minutes and can be a powerful tool to streamline your workflow. Not sure where to start? Check out this short video that explains the difference between report and meeting templates and what each one does.
When you’re ready to dive into report templates, we’ve created this handy Working with Report Templates Guide that you can download or print to help you get started. This shows you all the steps you need to create, update, and customize your agenda, notice, and minutes templates.
If you’re looking to create or update your meeting templates, we’ve got a guide for that, too. This Working with Meeting Templates Guide will teach you everything you need to know about creating or modifying your meeting templates. This is a great way to simplify setting up your committee meetings.
Also, keep an eye on the Lunch and Learn schedule – we have different sessions for both report and meeting templates that we offer twice a year each.
